If you’ve been to Mallard Cottage Restaurant you’ll know the feeling of sitting by the fireplace in one of the oldest wooden structures in North America, with a glass of wine in hand, listening to the sounds of the fiddle drift in from the next room over, thinking you could stay all night…We have some good news for you…now you can.

Completed in June 2017, The Inn by Mallard Cottage, in the heart of Quidi Vidi Village, has created an authentic Newfoundland experience for our guests. Although the Inn is located 10 minutes from downtown St. John’s and 20 minutes from St. John’s International Airport, the charming fishing village offers the sense of being hours away from the city and everything familiar.

Time slows in the village, creating space for spontaneity and adventure, so you never quite know what your days will entail. We invite you to turn off and slow down. Our rooms are outfitted with Tivoli Radios, with bluetooth capability and Wi-Fi, but we have left the televisions out to help you embrace the natural beauty of your destination. Our well trained staff are available to lead you towards world renowned hiking trails, fishing excursions, berry picking, foraging all within steps from The Inn.

Nestled in the craggy cliffs of the harbour, the Inn is next door to the renowned Mallard Cottage restaurant which has quickly become a favourite gathering place for locals and tourists alike. The two guest houses are influenced in design and aesthetic by the vernacular of rural Newfoundland. Each house boasts 4 guest rooms, all creatively appointed with the best furnishings from the past and present, the highest quality linens and amenities creating an inspiring stay with care free comfort.
